When Ms. Magarelli presented a personal development session for staff entitled “Laughter, Humor, and Play to Reduce Stress and Solve Problems,” a colleague quipped: “The session should have been called “How to be Jessica Magarelli. ”In teaching students with multiple disabilities, Ms. Magarelli radiates love and joy whether she’s asking them how they feel, reading and cooking “Green Eggs and Ham” together in the classroom, or supporting good behavior as they stock shelves at Giant. Ms. Magarelli coaches the high school dance team, whose members frequently visit her class. She also helped reignite the Bulldog Buddies program which pairs each of her students with a peer in general education once a month.

Congratulations also to the other Westfield High School staff members recognized at the event.
