Each year, the Northern Virginia Football Hall of Fame recognizes individuals from youth and scholastic football programs.  On Sunday , March 5th, the organization announced its winners for 2017.  Three members of the Westfield football team received awards: Coach Kyle Simmons, Linebacker Kevin Petrillo, and Kicker/Punter Brian Delaney.

After leading Westfield to back to back Virginia Division 6A State Championships, Kyle Simmons was given the honor of Coach of the Year.  The Bulldogs finished the season 13-2, making an inspiring run through the playoffs.  Their playoff run included an average margin of victory of 26 points before beating Oscar Smith 34-28 in double overtime.

Kevin Petrillo and Brian Delaney were awarded Co-NVHF Players of the year.  Kevin Petrillo led a stout Westfield defense from his linebacker spot all year, making key plays in critical moments.  Brian Delaney was a consistent force as both a kicker and a punter, and an emotional leader for the team off the field.

Congratulations to Coach Simmons, Kevin, and Brian on their awards!
