Westfield's Chorus performed well at the District XI Competition and will send at least one to the Virginia State Competition on April 27th.  Competition was very tough at the district competition as only two students per voice part are selected to move on to the all-state competition.  Lizzy Thomas was selected as an Alto 1 for the Mixed Chorus at the VMEA All-Virginia Chorus event.  In addition to Lizzy, Meghal Penta, Maddi Vlattas, Jacob Dietz, and Jon Cottrell were selected as alternates and will sing at states if a vacancy opens up in their voice parts.

Lizzy Thomas will also be heading to Minneapolis in March to participate in the National ACDA Honors Chorus.  She will join high-schoolers across the country to prepare a concert conducted by the great choral composer Eric Whitacre.  Congratulations to Lizzy, our alternates, and the rest of the juniors and seniors who did a wonderful job at auditions!
