Westfield HS Virtual Art Show 2020

Due to the COVID Pandemic closure of our school building, we were unable to hold our annual Westfield Pyramid Art Show. This is one of the most beloved traditions at Westfield High School. In an effort to share a bit of the work that our students have created in their advanced study of the Arts, we have created a Virtual Show with a sampling of work that was accepted for exhibition in the One Person Show section of our show.

Each year we award close to $1000 in art scholarships to deserving artists in our Pyramid. This year is no different! Look for ribbons in our exhibits to find our award winners. We are super proud of them and all of our student artists!

Our COVID Creative slideshow is a collection of the artwork students have created during our closure and Distance Learning in our Level 1-3 courses. Enjoy their response to our current reality and see our world through their eyes.

I have always been fascinated with the art of pottery, so it has been a special experience getting my hands on some clay this year, and experiment with different shapes, styles, and textures. I look forward to continuing this art journey in the School of Architecture at Virginia Tech this fall.

Irene Kim is a stylized semi-realistic traditional and digital illustrator who enjoys creating edgy and dark pieces, mainly using blacks in her works. With her inspirations from music, video games, and other artist’s works, she maintains her own flair that makes her art style as Irene Kim as it could be.

I am a mixed media artist, meaning I try every different medium I can get my hands on. Creating artwork is a beautiful expression of myself, sometimes it is extremely frustrating and difficult, but sometimes it allows me a meditative escape; just me and the art, no thoughts, no problems, no stresses, nothing from the outside can get in. I love art and I can't see myself ever not creating.

The following student artists were accepted in our Pyramid Art Show as One or Two Person Shows. Their commitment to the arts is remarkable, and although not all of them were able to provide content for a feature on this site, their work is valued equally.
