Goal #1: Performance in Coursework

By June 2024, those students identified within Special Education, English Language, Black (not Hispanic) and Hispanic (Latino) students will have an overall SOL pass rate of 80% for reading, math and science.

Strategy 1: Increase opportunities for student reflection, goal-setting, and feedback that supports growth around content and Portrait of a Graduate skills.

Strategy 2: Expand culture of shared responsibility where collaborative teams ensure the learning of every student.

Strategy 3: Increase development of literacy skills and habits of mind across disciplines.
 

Goal #2: Progression towards Advanced Coursework

By June 2024, the percentage of rising 9-12 grade students having a course plan/trajectory to include at least 1 or more AP/DE course, or other 1.0 weighted course, or earning CTE finisher status by the end of high school will rise to 90%, and success of students currently enrolled in these same courses (as well as honors) will also rise 90%.

Strategy 1: Monitor student data and use data to determine need for intervention and additional support.

Strategy 2: Increase instruction that focuses on student growth rather than meeting minimal proficiency standards.

Strategy 3: Increase development of literacy skills and habits of mind across disciplines.
 

Goal #3: Chronic Absenteeism

In School Year (SY) 2023-2024, the chronic absenteeism rate will be reduced by 5% points as compared to SY 22-23 to reach accreditation.

Strategy 1: Strengthen school team practices to monitor attendance data and determine need for intervention and additional support.

Strategy 2: Strengthening messaging to staff, students and families around attendance to school. Each stakeholder should be able to understand how daily attendance matters, not only for academic success, but because school offers an opportunity to develop social and emotional skills such as listening, paying attention, problem-solving and self-regulation, all which are needed to grow and learn.

Strategy 3: Increase opportunities for personalized early attendance outreach.
 

Goal #4: Discipline Goal

By June of 2024, the OSS Risk Ratio for SWD group will be reduced by a factor of at least 1.0.

Strategy 1: Integrate Tier 1-3 Restorative practices and justice into school discipline procedures and practices.

Strategy 2: Utilize an MTSS framework to establish and organize a schoolwide continuum of proactive behavior and wellness supports.

Strategy 3: Integrate consistent analysis of discipline data disaggregated by subgroups (race/ethnicity, SWD, EL, FRM).
 

Goal #5: Math Goal

By June 2024, the pass rate for students receiving special education services taking the geometry SOL will increase from 40% to a 75% rate or higher.

Strategy 1: Increase development of literacy skills and habits of mind across disciplines.

Strategy 2: Monitor student data and use data to determine need for intervention and additional support.

Strategy 3: Increase instruction that focuses on student growth rather than meeting minimal proficiency standards.

 

Goal #6: College, Career & Civic Readiness Index

By June 2024, the percentage of rising 9-12 grade students having a course plan/trajectory to include at least 1 or more AP/DE course, or other 1.0 weighted course, or earning CTE finisher status by the end of high school will rise to 90%, and success of students currently enrolled in these same courses (as well as honors) will also rise 90%.

Strategy 1: Develop and monitor annual course plans for students beginning in 8th grade to ensure enrollment in advanced coursework and/or CTE pathways

Strategy 2: Increase instruction that focuses on student growth rather than meeting minimal proficiency standards.
