All Westfield students, teachers, and staff will be reading  the same book this summer:     

Spare Parts:  Four Undocumented Teenagers, One Ugly Robot, and the Battle for the American Dream

We hope that you will join us in reading this novel before the first day of next school year!  Spare Parts is the true story of four undocumented Latino students at an underfunded public school who find inspiration from their science teachers and set out to compete in a robot-building competition against the best in the country.  And win! When we return in the fall there will be opportunities to discuss the novel and participate in a variety of activities in multiple classes.  

Westfield’s goal is to keep students reading over the summer, so we understand if you select a book of your own choosing this summer.  If you would like some recommendations, please reach out to the library or your English teacher.
