Student Parking

Instructions for obtaining a school parking permit for the 2018 - 2019 school year.

Parking on school grounds is a privilege. Eligible students wishing to park on school grounds must first complete and submit the appropriate paperwork. The student must then attend a safety meeting and purchase an FCPS parking permit at that time. The Westfield High School Administrative Staff reserves the right to deny a student the privilege of parking on school grounds.

The Fairfax County School Board has set the following parking fees for the 2018 – 2019 school year:

Application Instructions

The online student parking application for the 2018 - 2019 school year will open on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 3:30 PM for rising Seniors and Juniors who currently have a valid driver's license and wish to park on campus for the 2018 - 2019 school year. Seniors are given priority for student parking and Juniors will be considered after Senior requests have been filled. Eligible Sophomores may complete an application after October 1, 2018.  Only students who currently have a valid driver’s license or a temporary license may complete this parking application.

Step 1: Gather the Following Documents

Eligible rising Seniors & Juniors must have:

  • Driver's License or Temporary Driver's Permit
  • Primary vehicle information including make, model, license plate number, and license plate state
    • If applicable: Secondary vehicle information including make, model, license plate number, and license plate state
  • Insurance information

    Step 2: Complete Google Form

    • Ensure you are logged out of all other Google accounts.
    • Students must sign in to their FCPS Google account to complete this online Google Form.
      • Information on G Suite for Education (formerly known as Google Apps for Education) and new user instruction can be found here.
      • In the case you have forgotten your password you can recover or reset a forgotten password.
    • Only one response per student ID will be allowed.
      • Take your time and complete the application at home with your parents or legal guardian to ensure all information entered is correct.
    • If you realize you made an error after your application is submitted, you must contact Mr. Mahan.
    • After submitting the application, students will receive an automated e-mail at their FCPS Google account (fcpsschools.net) that includes a completed, printable PDF version of your parking application. This PDF will also include the Westfield High School Parking Regulations.

    Step 3: Print and Sign Completed Parking Application Forms

    • Print the PDF parking application and parking regulations and then review and sign with your parents or guardian.
      • These forms must be signed by both the student applicant and their parent/guardian.
    • Student applicants must make a legible photocopy of their:
      • Valid driver’s license or
      • VA Learner’s Permit (with picture) AND Virginia Driver Training Certificate or
      • VA Learner’s Permit (with picture) AND One Hundred Eighty-Day Temporary Provisional Driver’s Licence
    • Pages must be stapled in the top left corner in the following order:
      • FCPS ‘Application for Use of Private Automobile’
      • Westfield High School Parking Regulations
      • Photocopy of valid driver’s license or a temporary license and permit

    Step 4: Turn in Parking Application Forms

      • June 11, 2018
        • Student applicants will be able to turn in their parking application packet to the F102 security office the morning of Monday, June 11, 2018, from 7:10 AM to 8:00 AM.
      • June 11, 2018 - June 14, 2018
        • Student may turn in their packet to security during at the F102 Security Office:
          • Arrival hours (7:40 AM - 8:00 AM)
          • Mid-morning break (10:05 AM to 10:15 AM)
          • After dismissal (12:30 PM to 1:00 PM)
      • June 18, 2018 - May 31, 2019
        • After the last day of school, student applicants will be able to turn in their application packet to the main office during office hours Monday through Friday.
      • Only the student applicant may turn in his or her own packet to a staff member. No one else can turn in your application for you.
      • If students are carpooling and sharing a pass each student must turn in their packets together.
      • Incomplete application packets and packets not given directly to a designated staff member will not be accepted.
      • Staff will note the order in which completed packets are turned in.

      Parking Safety Meeting / Permit Distribution Information

      • At this meeting, Security will verify student's drivers' license, go over the school parking regulations, check for outstanding financial obligations, collect money, and distribute permits.
      • Meetings will start on time.  Students not checked in by the start time will have to attend another meeting. Remember to allow time for waiting in line to check-in and process paperwork at the end of the parking safety meeting.
      • Summer parking meetings will be held near the start of the school year in the Westfield Library.  The number of students attending the meeting will determine how long you may have to wait.  Plan at least two hours.

        • Monday, August 27, 2018
          • 11:00 AM
          • Note: Students must have a completed parking application turned in by noon Thursday, August 23, 2018, to allow time for processing.
      • School year parking meetings will be held in the F102 security office (across from the main office) after school. Plan at least fourty-five minutes).
        • Second and fourth school-day Monday of each month.
          • 3:30 PM
          • Note: Students must have a completed parking application turned in by noon the prior Thursday to allow time for processing.

      Eligible students must have with them:

      • Valid driver's license or temporary license and permit (with picture)
      • Parking fee
        • Please bring exact cash as change will not be available.
        • Check or money order shall be made out to Westfield High School with student name in the memo.
      • Students with unpaid school obligations will not be issued a parking permit until outstanding obligations are fulfilled.
