2024 AP Exam Dates

The 2024 AP Exams will be administered in schools over two weeks in May: May 6–10 and May 13–17. 

AP Exam Day Reminders:

  • If students plan to leave early or arrive late to school on the day of an AP exam, they must complete and have a parent sign the AP Exam Attendance Form. The deadline to return the form is May 1. The forms will be available at the student AP Information Sessions on April 26th(11th and 12th grade students) and April 30th(9th and 10th grade students) and also available in Subschools after the meeting.  
  • For afternoon exams, students MUST arrange to have transportation home after the exam.  Many of the exams will not end until AFTER  the buses are gone for the day. 
  • All AP information is located in the Student Services course in Schoology

Reminders for Digital AP Exams: 

  • Students will be taking these digital exams on their FCPS-issued Chromebooks. Personal computers will NOT be allowed for testing. 
  • Students will need to know their College Board Login  to be able to access the exam.
  • To minimize issues on exam day, it is critical that all students bring their Chromebooks FULLY CHARGED. 
  • Each student should also have their own power cord as a backup.

Westfield HS will be giving AP DIGITAL exams to students registered for exams in the following courses on the following dates/times.

  • AP Seminar (Tuesday, May 7, 2024, 12:00 p.m.)
  • AP English Literature and Composition (Wednesday, May 8, 2024, 8:00 a.m.)
  • AP U.S. History (Friday, May 10, 2024, 8:00 a.m.)
  • AP English Language and Composition (Tuesday, May 14, 2024, 8:00 a.m.)
  • AP African American Studies (Tuesday, May 14, 2024, 12:00 p.m.)
  • AP World History: Modern (Wednesday, May 15, 2024, 8:00 a.m.)
  • AP Computer Science Principles (Wednesday, May 15, 2024, 12:00 p.m.)

AP Testing Opt Out

Students will receive their AP Opt-Out form from Westfield High School via email during the week of October 3rd. 

Deadline:  AP students must make Opt-Out decisions by October 13th. Forms must be turned into Dana Hughes(Subschool 2) or Nicole Shaw(Subschool 4). AP Opt Out forms cannot be accepted by any other staff members.

  • Students who submit an Opt-Out form will receive a confirmation email from Nicole Shaw or Dana Hughes to confirm the receipt of your Opt-Out form. If you do not receive an email confirmation by October 31, 2023, assume your form has not been received/processed and see Ms. Hughes or Ms. Shaw immediately.

2023-24 AP Test Fees

  • Fees for the first six AP tests taken for courses in which students are enrolled for high school credit will be paid for by FCPS. 
  • For each exam beyond six, families will be charged the College Board testing fee of $98. Students who are eligible for Free/Reduced lunch and have completed the Consent to Share form will not be charged the exam fee(s).
  • Students who wish to take AP tests without enrolling in the corresponding FCPS course are responsible for the test fee(s). Please see Mrs. Hughes or Mrs. Shaw for registration forms.
  • FCPS encourages all students to take AP/IB tests for courses in which they are enrolled. However, students will have the opportunity to opt-out of the test(s) by completing an Opt-Out form. These were sent to parents and students via email on October 3rd. 
  • Parents will be billed a non-refundable test fee in December 2023 for tests that exceed the six FCPS funded tests.
