On February 20, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors recognized the Westfield Field Hockey Team and the Westfield Football Team for winning Virginia State Titles in the fall.  The recognition took place at the Board of Supervisors meeting, led by Sully district supervisor Kathy Smith.

The Westfield Field Hockey team completed an amazing undefeated season finishing with a record of 24-0, winning the Virginia 6A State Championship. The Bulldogs Field Hockey team allowed only 7 goals over the 24 games recording 18 shutout victories during the season.  Coach Starr Karl finished her coaching career going out on top.  Congratulations to Coach Karl and the entire Westfield High School Field Hockey team.

Many members of the Westfield Football team were also in attendance to be recognized for their third consecutive (and fifth overall) Virginia 6A State championship. Westfield posted a 15-0 record with a 28-21 championship victory over Oscar Smith.  The Bulldogs finished their undefeated season with 7 student-athletes named to the all-state team including Defensive Player of the Year, Nolan Cockrill.  Coach Kyle Simmons was recognized by the VHSL as the 6A Football coach of the year.

Congratulations to our athletes and coaches for receiving this honor.
