As a level three photography student, I am passionate about exploring the natural world as i find it and documenting it. My goal is always to celebrate the beauty that we find around us in the best way that I can. My personal strengths lie in landscapes and small portraits with natural elements, especially natural lighting. I hope to document the world in a way that inspires the viewer to care for it as I aspire to do later in life. The media today presents us with so many negative images of the environment, filled with pollution and death. Although these issues are certainly important, I believe that the easiest way to motivate people to act is to ask them to help preserve the beauty we already have, and can see, with the goal of expanding that to all issues that our environment faces today. I have been influenced by photographers such as Paul Reiffer, notable for his sunset landscapes, and Zak Noyle, who shoots surfers in action. I admire the bright colors these artists used, as well as the swirling oceans they present in dream-like states. I also hope that my photography can provide a small reprieve to my views and bring them a sense of calm.
